What is FEP O ring seal ?

Fluorinated ethylene propylene rubber O-ring (also called coated FEP o-seal) consists of a synthetic rubber inner ring and a seamless fluorinated ethylene propylene shell covering the inner ring.  Similar to the TEflon O-ring, it is suitable for those occasions where the conventional synthetic rubber O-ring is not suitable for chemical corrosion resistance.  Synthetic rubber inner rings provide the flexibility needed for this type of seal, while seamless fluorinated ethylene propylene rubber enclosures provide chemical resistance. 

 

Features of coated O-ring: wide temperature range, good compressibility, friction resistance and excellent sealing durability, long service life.

Application: for pumps and valves, reaction vessels, mechanical seal filters, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, boiler pipe flanges, gas compressors.  Suitable for chemical substances, petrochemical products, pharmaceutical technology, food, water, sewage and similar industrial fields. 

 

Typical applications are: sealing stem and auxiliary seal elements for mechanical seals.  Fluorine rubber (FKM) temperature range: -20~+200℃
