Detailed installation method of hydraulic cylinder piston and piston rod seal ring

There are many ways to install the hydraulic cylinder piston and piston rod seals. Before we need to install the hydraulic cylinders, we should first install the seals according to the model of the seals and the groove structure. Our installation methods are also different. Different types of hydraulic cylinder seals are used to explain the installation method.


I. Installation method of piston seal


1. Install the U-shaped seal in the overall groove. The installation method is:


Step 1: Prepare a shank pivot with the same diameter as the piston rod.


Step 2: In order to make the seal ring easily install on the piston rod, please apply lubricant.

Step 4: Press the seal ring with your thumb and load the pivot into the hole. as shown in picture 2

Step 5: Press down while turning the handle.


2. Install the nitrile rubber U-shaped seal in the overall groove. Installation method:


Insert one side of the seal into the groove and pull the other side of the seal into the groove.


3. Install the combined seal (stud seal, Gley ring) in the overall groove. Installation method:


Tips: When installing combination seals such as ster seals and Gray rings, be sure to pay attention to the PTFE slip rings and rubber seals installed in the overall groove, you must correct the PTFE slip rings.


Step 1: Prepare the bushing and pusher tools as shown in Figure 5. Before , flush the inner surface of the cavity of the hydraulic cylinder and the surface of the groove.
