St Helens booked out ahead of triple j One Night Stand

Punters planning on attending on September 1 will need to get in quick if they want to secure a bed for the night.  Within hours of that the town had been chosen to host the free regional party, local accommodations were swarmed with bookings. St Helens Big4 Holiday Park receptionist Rebecca Iles said the response had been incredible, with all of the park's units, cabins and camping sites booked before 1pm.  "As soon as the announcement was made on the radio we were getting bookings online and over the phone," she said. "We have never booked out in one day before, but once it was announced the phone didn't stop ringing.  "I think it is great for St Helens and great for Tasmania.  "A lot of the people who are coming are from Tasmania, so it is just wonderful." The Queechy Motel, Sweetwater Villas, Hillcrest Tourist Park and Bayside Inn were also fully booked out for the Saturday night, with limited rooms remaining for the Friday night in some.  Sweetwater Villas manager Jarryd Purdie said the announcement was like an "explosion" for the town. "This is going to put little St Helens on the map," he said.  "I am not we are ready for it. We are completely booked out, every single room. "People might end up having to sleep out on the street."
